Political Debates Scheduled for August 23, 26 and 28

KINGSTON, JAMAICA, August 15, 2025: The Jamaica Debates Commission (JDC) has said that this year’s political debates will take place on Saturday, August 23, Tuesday, August 26, and Thursday August 28. The debates, which will be staged at the Creative Production & Training Centre in Kingston will be broadcast live on radio and television across the country and will also be streamed on websites and via social media. JDC Chairman, Brian Schmidt advised that representatives of the PNP and JLP who attended a meeting with the organization earlier today, have now confirmed the debate dates. In sequence, the debates will focus on Social Issues, the Economy, and will culminate in a Leaders’ Debate between the heads of the JLP and PNP. The first and second debates will each feature three-person teams and all three debates will last for 90 minutes.
