Jamaica Debates Commission (JDC) in The Gambia

Kingston, Jamaica; November 9, 2021: A representative of the Jamaica Debates Commission (JDC) is now in the Gambia, providing advisory
assistance to the Gambia’s Commission on Political Debates (CPD) ahead of that country’s Presidential Elections in early December.

Trevor Fearon, a Resource Consultant with the JDC since its formation in 2002, will supplement a Gambian team that is planning a debate for
presidential contenders in late November. JDC team members have previously provided both technical and advisory assistance to political
debate organizing entities within the Caribbean, in Africa and in Southeast Asia. The JDC is a founding member of Debates International,
a network of independent debate-organizers in more than 30 countries.

Fearon will be in the Gambia for a period of over two weeks beginning on November 7, 2021 at the behest of the Washington-based National
Democratic Institute (NDI) and will be based at the NDI’s country office in Banjul, the Gambia’s capital city.
